"Effective communication between doctor and patient is as important as any medication we prescribe to help our patients achieve a desired health outcome. And in some cases, even more important.” —Dr. Randall Porter, MD
Dr. Randall W. Porter, a neurosurgeon with Barrow Neurosurgical Associates in Phoenix, AZ., created Medical Memory after his father was diagnosed with cancer and launched in 2014. His father lived in Chicago and Dr. Porter experienced the challenges and frustrations of having to rely on family members to accurately recite complex information about his father’s condition and treatment. The experience had a profound effect on Dr. Porter’s approach to patient communication in his own practice and ultimately would change patient engagement across healthcare.
“I knew immediately how inefficient it was for physicians and their staffs to have the same conversation over and over again. I realized that a better, more efficient process would involve a video of doctor/patient consultations.”
In 2015, Dr. Porter founded Medical Memory and subsequently delivered healthcare’s first enterprise cloud-based video patient engagement (VPE) solution with a singular commitment to improve patient comprehension, satisfaction and trust. Today, Medical Memory is the premier video patient engagement (VPE) choice for hospitals and healthcare professionals who need to increase patient engagement and reduce malpractice exposure, while simultaneously improving financial performance.
Healthcare is a human business – Medical Memory simply uses technology to deliver on this promise.
