IME recording in Washington State

  • Your right is to have your IME recorded in the State of Washington. 

  • Washington is a two-party consent state. This means both parties (the examiner and worker) must consent to the recording. 

  • A single party cannot secretly record without the other party's consent. 

  • You must notify the firm and examiner 7 days before your IME that you would like your examination recorded.

What is Medical Memory?

  • Your Examiner recorded your IME with Medical Memory, a HIPAA-compliant secure cloud-based service contracted with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (WSDLI). 

  • Videos are initiated by the Examiner and securely uploaded and stored on a Medical Memory encrypted server. 

  • Examiners & Workers can obtain access to the video.

How do I get a copy of my IME video?

  • Obtaining access to your video is easy! Email Washington State Department of Labor & Industries IME Program Coordinator at IMEThirdPartyRecording@lni.wa.gov **Include your Name & Claim Number

  • You will receive an email Invitation from Medical Memory to create a password. This ensures your information remains protected and secure. 

Can I download or share my IME video?

  • You can not download your IME video. Your access to your IME video never expires. You can access your video with your email and password you created at anytime. 

  • To share your IME video you must email: IMEThirdPartyRecording@lni.wa.gov **You must include your Name & Claim Number and the parties email address and their relationship to you. They receive their own unique Invitation to create a password to securely access Medical Memory. 

I didn't receive an Invitation from Medical Memory.

  • If you have emailed your IME details to IMEThirdPartyRecording@lni.wa.gov please allow 3 business days to receive an Invitation from Medical Memory.

  • If you are sure that the Program Coordinator sent you an Invitation be sure to check your spam/junk folder for your Account Invitation. 

I set up my account, but my video is not there.

  • Your invitation to your video is shared from the WSDLI Program Coordinator. With that link you will create a password and your video will be in My Videos > Videos Shared to Me. If you're still having trouble please reach out to Medical Memory Support at 855-667-4000 or email Patient@TheMedicalMemory.com
